The night was clear, and the dark blue sky was dominated by the bright full moon.
Tuesday morning was completely different. Heavy rain was pouring down and it stayed like this all day. It was one of these days with nasty weather that I had expected to be typical for Iceland before my arrival but up to now only had experienced twice. I nevertheless found some glimpses of magic within the moss-covered lava fields but otherwise mostly stayed in my van and waited for the evening to drive to the airport and pick up my wife an daughter arriving late at night to join me on my trip for a couple of days.
