Back on the main road I headed south and then west without any more detours and reached the camping at Skagaströnd in the late evening.

Sunday, August 20th started still sunny and I decided to use the fine weather to wash some of my clothes in the morning in the hope that it would dry quickly in the morning sun. To my great relieve it stayed sunny and mostly windless all day. There nevertheless was enough time for a more extensive excursion so I decided to give it a try on the gravel road starting behind the campground and – according to the map – following the coast all around the peninsula. I was a bit suspicious about the drivability of that road with my van but relaxed after the first few kilometres which were dominated by cumbersome washboard grooves but otherwise safe to drive.
