Another bend in the coastline and another point. Fairly close to the road. But again fenced off. Private property. It was the classic Iceland dilemma. So much potential. So close. Still inaccessible.

The road turned inland for a while and then approached the coast again. Another point became visible. An offshore reef. And more points. And still some lines out in the blue. They were almost breaking at the outer reef. Bigger sets were breaking but with long lulls in between. At least a road was leading down to the bay in front of the point. Needless to say, it was private farmland again. I choose not to give it a try as the swell was too inconsistent.

But that place looked interesting and I made a mark on my map. From here on the road turned inland again and climbed further up onto a plain that met the sea with the typical vertical cliffs that had been dominating all my hitherto trip around the peninsula. Only this time they were even higher. And they were very unstable. Approaching the cliff edge to have a look at the sea had to be done very carefully. At some parts long cracks indicated an upcoming rockfall and at other parts you could see the remnants of large chunks of the cliff see lying down at the shoreline. At this area it was impossible to get down to the sea.
