The still very bumpy road followed the coastline in a safe distance, and it took a while until it came close to the shore again. I stopped at the first opportunity and was confronted with more vertical cliffs but, looking southwards, with a view on a series of points which seemed to be more accessible.
At the first of these point setups there was still some swell visible. But – surprise – I could not find any access. Further into the fjord I finally found an accessible bay, but it was too protected by a headland sticking out into the sea. Chances for surfable waves were vanishing with every kilometre that I got deeper into the fjord. I gave up looking for swell lines and instead concentrated on the beauty of the landscape in the warm early evening light.
My focus shifted again when I reached a bigger bay that already had caught my attention when studying the map. This bay was orientated northeast and still caught some leftovers from the swell. A little river mouth obviously had created a well-placed sandbar and the waves breaking here seemed at least longboard-able.
