And indeed, I didn´t have to drive long until the first waves were visible from the road. A deep-water break had some significant waves breaking out at the fjord. It was too onshore though and too desolate for a solo session in unknown waters, but I ear-marked this spot in my mind (and think that I saw it properly working in a video a few weeks later). Not too far from this I passed another promising setup, but the cobble-stone point obviously needed a little bit more west in the swell direction.
A stone´s throw away lay a farm which claimed to be a 3-star rural resort and on the right day this might be the perfect accommodation for some 5-star surfing. My hopes for the day lay at a bay further east that I had recognized on the map. So, I continued driving along the almost deserted coast road, which soon turned a bit away from the coast until it reached the northern shores of the peninsula. It was a rough and bumpy road with a lot of curves and the weather turned nasty now. The road was running close to the coast now, but the difficult driving conditions only allowed short glimpses down at the sea.
It stayed like this until I reached that bay. The weather hadn´t changed and it was still massively raining, but I could park alongside the road and examine the area without risking flying off the road.
