The next morning it was wet and cold again, but calm. The sea was still flat. The sandy flats in between the shoreline and the mountain range were filled with a thin layer of water, which due to the absolute absence of any wind down here had become an enormous mirror. It wasn´t completely calm though – this place seems to be a magnet for wind – but it was blowing from the northeast which means the wind coming from inland and getting blocked of by the mountains.

It was overcast and the wind brought clouds which were caught by the mountain tips. We decided to go for a walk along the footpath following the mountain base, passing the fake Viking village, and leading to the abandoned military settlement at the north end of the beach. There is always a bit more swell over there, but it was flat too, thus killing out last faint hope for a surf session today.

So, we headed back along the beach and the place once again managed to stun me. Sure, the weather was far from perfect and grey was the dominating colour. But the ankle-deep lake on the black sand beach mirroring the fantastic rock formations was a fantastic sight.
