On the way east I made a stop at the remote beach with the stiff offshores from yesterday but only found a horse´s skull but no suitable waves. After 15 minutes more driving, I reached the point that had been firing a couple of days ago. The wind was perfect here, but the swell was too tiny to make the necessary 90-degree bend. I decided to head back west and have a little detour to the geothermal hotspot at Seitun.

It is a short drive from the main road, through moss covered lava fields and along a couple of volcanic cones and a shimmering blue lake to the parking right in front of the fumaroles. They weren´t as spectacular as the ones at Hverarond but also displayed beautiful colors, quite a bit of steam and the inevitable permeating sulfur stench.

Most of the mud-bubbling and fuming and all the wicked colouring happens very close to the parking and access is easy via some paths and wooden planks, but it is nevertheless worth to take the steep and often slippery ascent up the hill. There is more fuming up there and the panorama from up here is classy.
