Down at the port the access to the embarking lanes was closed but I found a small parking lot where I could spend the night. The next morning was sunny and warm again and after a small breakfast at the terminal I had a few more hours to kill before the ferry departure. Luckily the ferry port is situated right beside the old port and town center which I reached with a ten-minute walk.
There was not enough time to explore the immensely rich cultural heritage of the town – in fact I couldn´t even remotely explore it – but the walk along the historic harbor with its armada – still! – of small fishing boats surrounded by the old fortifications and town buildings was a very nice way to kill time while waiting for the departure of the ferry.
Around noon we finally left. The weather was still very fine and the Mediterranean Sea was completely calm.
