EP10-winter-13h

In the afternoon, the sun reappeared at least for some short periods. A few locals had joined the retro guys but the lineup was still very thinly populated. I nevertheless still felt too cold and void of energy. But there was surf, and couldn´t let this day pass without paddling out myself. So, I went for a compromise and drove to Mini Capo. My preferred point of the past few days was empty and had hip-high waves. This meant a very comfortable paddle out and still some nice long logging rides.

I had some fun out there but soon had to deal with back problems again. The many surfing days without a real break and the generally low temperatures plus my primitive housing in the van started do demand its toll of my aging body again. So, I returned to the beach only halfway satisfied, changed into dry clothes and walked up the coast to have another look at the cape.

It was still quite rough over there, but with beautiful light, albeit the kind of light that you have with cold weather. This night I switched on the heating in my van for the first time of my stay on the island.
