Wednesday, December 6th started with a once again cold and cloudy morning. A light south-easterly wind was blowing and I headed to the west coast. Some leftover swell was running but I decided it was too cold and too unpleasant to paddle out (I know, I was getting picky).
It was probably time for a change and so I headed north. I didn´t get far as there were some lines in the bay of S'Archittu. I stopped and walked down to the beachfront for further inspection. It was again a glass half full / half empty swell and would it have been 10 degrees warmer I probably would have paddled out.
But with single digit air temperatures and an unknown shallow reef I stayed on land and instead took the opportunity to have a look at the stone arches that are the major tourist attraction of this town. I found them at the northern end of the bay, and they were nice but my main interest in this town was still created by the reef.
I strolled back through the deserted town to my van and continued my drive north via the windy country roads leading through the coastal mountains.
