The lineup stayed fairly light compared to what would be normal at other places with comparable waves, but due to the long lulls in between sets even the two handfuls of surfers out there were already the maximum that the point could bare.
Around noon the wind started to turn into more southerly directions, and I decided to change coasts, hoping for the forecasted wind twist to south-east would happen soon enough during the short mid-winter day. So, I forced my van up the steep ascent to the pass on the ridge separating the bay from the exposed west facing coast. A little bit past the summit the road offers a first view onto the bay.
The Mediterranean Sea was raging with big, but storm blown waves. The wind was blowing side-shore and messing up the swell, but this was about to be improved during the later day when the wind would be turning side-offshore here. Having plenty of time until this would happen, I made the detour to a theoretically more sheltered part of the bay but found it fully stirred up too.
