The position of the cemetery would be a dream for every real estate developer, right behind the coast road on a decently ascending hill flank. I wandered around through the odd vault buildings for a while and then went back on my search mission.

The wind was still too onshore for my taste at this part of the coast, so I drove north to the other bay. The swell had a good size here too and the wind was better. But there was too much water moving in the sheltered parts of the bay and only the outer reef was producing waves that looked surfable. Yet not for me, as the size of the swell and the slabby character of the break were beyond my limits.

So, I drove up to the path again and down to the south coast. The swell had picked up but so had the wind. This meant a lot of paddle work and endless duck-diving for the chance of a bumpy ride. I couldn´t convince myself to paddle out. As the wind was turning even more and got a nuance of south-east, I decided to drive across the hills again and go slab-watching.
