I drove down to the south side of the bay and walked over to the headland with the offshore reef in front. I had been hoping to see the four locals who regularly had been out when this break was on tackling the slab, but the lineup was empty. It wasn´t really surprising though, as the wave was good to look at, but probably a nightmare to surf.
Tuesday, December 12th
I got up before dawn and it wasn´t raining! But this wasn´t the reason for my early start into the day. The reason was a solid south-west swell und favourable winds, at least according to the forecast. I drove to the point in the first faint daylight and immediately realized, that forecast hadn´t been exaggerating.
Set waves were head-high and the wind was almost non-existent. A couple of locals were already out and I watched for a while to see how the lineup and the wave were working. Despite the comfort of having spent the second night in a row in a well heated solid apartment, I still felt stiff and a bit weak in the morning. My systems weren´t really running yet, so I decided to have a look across the hills, just in case the other bay was performing.
