The next spot worth checking was Plage de la Tonnara and here the wind direction was side-onshore. It was blowing pretty hard but there was no real swell and again I decided that the conditions were not good enough to risk a mid-winter solo session and I was soon back on the road. My focus was on the swell due to arrive tomorrow anyhow, and I wanted to make the demanding drive up north as relaxed as possible.

When I reached the point where the D250 leaves the coast and turns inland at Roccapina, I stopped for a last view of the beautiful southwest coast of the island. There are some fantastic rocks in the area and the panorama is classy. The coastline is pretty rugged here, with lots of points and little bays, most of them very exposed to westerly swells but also the usually accompanying winds. Lots of potential for surf when the conditions align but now blown out at the exposed spots and not enough swell for the sheltered bays to come alive. Still very nice to go for a little walk and enjoy the fantastic nature.
