East of the town lies a very promising point which I have been watching for a long time but never seen properly breaking. Due to its south-westerly orientation and its situation just at the fringes of the swell shadow of the Saint Tropez peninsula, a very specific swell direction was necessary to reveal the real potential of that point. Now, for the first time in years I spotted what I had been hoping for. Well organized swell lines were rolling in and got transformed into seemingly endless lefthand peelers.
I stopped for a closer look. It was small with longer flat periods, but the set waves looked surf-able, at least with a longboard. I decided to have a look to the breaks further east. According to what the point was indicating, they must be – sort of – pumping. But when I made my next stop at the bay around the corner, it was flat. But the orientation of that beach was probably too much east and so I restarted the van and drove further east. That harbour wall that I had found to be so nice in January 2018 (check this story) had been my plan A anyway and it sure was working.
