On the paddle out a very nice set with about head high waves crossed my path and made me even more excited. As there were quite few other surfers already out, I choose to play the patience game again and positioned myself outside for the set waves. This “strategy” usually means a lot of waiting and close attention to the current to be in position once a set arrives. So, I sat out there, happy to be out at sea at all and waited. And waited and waited and waited.

But after half an hour of nothing coming even close to break at my position, I started to wonder if the swell had already peaked and nothing else was to expect out here. But just when I had made up my mind and wanted to paddle further in, about 20 guys and gals with softboards arrived and paddled out all together to the inside peak.
