Decent sets were still arriving with very low frequency, but they kept coming. So, at around noon I was out at sea again and this time was a bit luckier as the sea didnīt get immediately flat once I reached the lineup. The crowd was still too large and as I am very hesitant in dropping in on anybody I didnīt fully participate in the mass paddle battles for the better waves, which cost me a few potentially good rides. That didn’t hinder carefree softboard heroes and heroines to drop into me. At least the board that almost blew me off during one of my few rides was a soft one. In the end it was better than my first session, but still not what I had hoped for and driven all the long way up.
But the very summer-like weather and being at the North Sea at all prevented me to call it a lost day. It just felt good to be here again. In the afternoon, the sea got completely flat, and I decided to start the five hours drive back home early. My mood was still good as the possibility alone to drive deep into Denmark to chase a promising swell felt like I got my pre-pandemic life back.
