The next task on our list was to refill all the burned calories. Nowadays, the British cuisine has more to offer than the usual fish & chips option - at least since celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is having such a great success. Luckily, Jamie owns a restaurant in Watergate Bay, and even more luckily, Watergate Bay was more or less on our way back to St. Ives Bay… Just a mere coincidence, which made us end a perfect day in the most appropriate way.

Talking about food – in case you start feeling hungry in between to sessions or on a day without any wind, we recommend “Cream Teas”. These are pastries, rich in calories, topped with jam and clotted cream. It is very unlikely that you might find another way to plough yourself with more calories in shorter time and in a more compressed way. The best way to enjoy these bombs of calories is on a nice and sunny beach, while looking at the English folks in their T-shirts and shorts, who obviously are insensitive to the cold, while you are dressed up in layers with every single piece of clothes that you have at hand in order to keep warm. All major stereotypes of the British quickly proved to be true…

Another option to fight against your appetite of course is to opt for the classical fish & chips in one of the beautiful, tiny and mystical fishing villages, which have been built into the cliffs all along the coastline. And in the late afternoon, when the sea fog begins to settle on the old fishing huts, and only screams of seagulls and hushed noises are still audible, and obscure and apparitional figures and shadows disappear in the haze, you definitely feel as if you were right in the middle of the next adventure story of the famous five.
