Just to make sure that I didn´t miss anything I had a quick stop at the Cold Hawaii capital but didn´t like it there either. Half an hour later I reached the other surfer-town up here and once again the first view from the dunes wasn´t really convincing. The former (?) breaks close to the long jetty – I have the impression that the useless construction of that swimming pool at the base of the jetty and the resulting interruption of the sand flow have done nothing good to the sandbars here – were completely flat while the swell was loosing energy at outer sandbars without breaking.

But close to the former Underground some peaks looked surfable and knowing that conditions would not improve during the day I paddled out here. In the end it was better than expected, another cruisy longboard session on ok lefts until these more or less vanished around noon.

The rest of the day was grey and mostly rainy and flat. I killed time with a little walk in the tundra-like dune area south of Hanstholm.

The forecast for Friday was some south-westerly winds and some windswell. I was hoping for a windsurfing session. It became one of these ugly days that can happen up here, with the wind constantly changing direction from southwest to west and back again with accompanying rain showers and rapid drops in wind speed. It was on and off and on and off again, windsurfing-wise and the windswell was very poor.
