Meanwhile the sun had come out and the island presented its entire otherwise well hidden treasures in bright colours. Meanwhile a LOT of people had come to the beach, some of them just to enjoy the warmth, most of them to surf. The whole range of wave riding vehicles from boogie boards to standard shortboards to hybrids to longboards to SUPs was used. Most of them stuck to the mellower peak at the westerly reef. The waves shifted a bit there which helped to spread the crowds at least a little bit. The peak on the reef to the east produced more hollow and more powerful waves and therefore had a thinner crowd. Very very few ventured to the reefs further east that normally never have a surfable wave.

I went out for a second session before heading back to the flat for some well needed nutrition.

In the evening I cycled to the lighthouse together with my daughter. It was low tide now and on a normal day it would have gone dead flat. But the swell had enough energy and converted the reef around the headland into a garden of lefts, some of them breaking ridiculously long over the rocky ground.

If it would just be more often like this the island would become one of my favourites in Europe and would solve some conflicts about family compatible travel destinations too…
