The building itself is a sensation and it fascinated me again. When I reached the entrance I saw that they were running a Basquiat (one of my favourite artists) exhibition. I decided to round the building and then go into the exhibition but on a closer look I found out, that the museum was closed. It was a Monday and on Mondays every museum in Europe is closed. My timing was not that good at the moment.

But I solaced myself with taking time to examine this masterpiece of architecture and even got rewarded by the sun which came out for a few moments and gave the metallic skin of the museum a surreal shine.

I finished my sightseeing with a coffee and a muffin at a bar just in front of the Guggenheim and walked back to the van. Coming closer I realized a police woman noting my licence plate. It had taken me more time to examine the building than expected and my parking ticket was probably a bit overdue. I hastily approached here and told her that I would leave immediately and that I had problems with the ticket machine and got away with it.

It was already getting dark and I followed the river along some more obscure suburbs and abandoned harbour facilities and manged to reach Punta Galea. I parked the van at the parking in front of the fort, had something to eat and went to bed. Tomorrow was the day with that large long period swell and I wanted to get up early.
