I reached the bridge to the island in the afternoon and the weather was perfect. Sunny, very warm, no wind. No wind? I got a little bit hectic and naturally there were plenty of guys on the roads that took it very easy.
Way too easy, which caused long files on the road and soon started to piss me really off. I mean, going 50 km on roads that allow 70 and more but are too narrow and busy to overtake is not easy going anymore. It´s offending the other drivers, especially when they need to get to the beach because there is surf.
When I finally reached the beach at about 4 o´ clock the few parking places where packed. I found an empty spot quite a bit away and walked for a check. Once on my usual sight-seeing point I had one chick look and hastily headed back to the car to get my board. The 2 feet @ 12 seconds transmitted into breast high waves with a very light offshore keeping them in good form. The still rising tide was helping too.
So, I paddled out for a late afternoon session into the quickly filling lineup. The session was good. And it had been already worth making the detour.
