The wind was now down enough for a 4.0 sail. This also improved the waves and even the section further down started to show its real potential. For me this was a bit too late, as I had a couple of hours to drive to get back home and face a probably large amount of unfinished work that I had missed the past days on Wednesday morning. So, I had to leave, heavy hearted. But I had another spot on my must-return list of the area.
Saving energy turned out to be a wise decision as once I reached the motorway, I entered a heavy weather front. It took me about 30 kilometres to pass it in heavy rain and hail and once I got to its frontside it followed me closely for the next 70 kilometres und I finally could take a western trajectory over the Øresund bridge and thus got out of the path of this monster.
Once safely on Danish ground the rest of the journey was easy and even the ferry crossing was almost romantic on a fairly calm sea under a full moon. Despite some missed opportunities, the past 5 days had been a very good start into autumn.
