Despite the comfortable parking very close to shore and the grass patches to rig up, this windsurfing spot was far from comfortable. To get out you either had to launch from the stone “beach” where the waves directly broke on the rocks or through the little harbour. There you could navigate through an about 2 meters wide keyhole straight into the impact zone.
Timing was crucial here. One guy was mowed down by the white-water immediately after he had passed the entrance and then swept down across the rocky beach. Another guy passed the entrance with enough speed and about 10 meters away from it leapt into a nice little forward loop. A bit of local experience was very helpful here.
A 3.5 sail also would have been helpful. I thought I had been sufficiently prepared for high wind wave-sailing when I recently bought a 4.0 sail (which was still unused) but now found this wasn´t enough. The local sailors all had Viking figures and still barely could control their tiny sails out there. It was really windy. I had to wait. The wind was supposed turn more side-shore later on and I hoped it would go down a bit too.
