Monday, May 28th

We went to the market in Questembert in the morning before we drove back to the coast. North-westerly winds were on offer, less strong then yesterday, with smaller waves.
Skies were grey, but the tide was right, some fun sized waves were breaking and the wind was good enough for the wave board and a 5.8 sail. Bit too much onshore in the wind direction, what once again favoured the kite-surfers. And when I say kite-surfer I mean the folk that doesn´t wear silly shorts above their wetsuits and uses surf boards instead of wake boards.

They manage to cross waves effortless despite the – at least at the height of a windsurf-sail – gusty winds. Riding the wave in cross- onshore winds seems to be much easier with a kite instead of a windsurf sail. Wonder what evolution will have done to windsurfing in a few years….
