The spectacle was dramatically lit by an already low standing sun and dark clouds. And after a while the rain came back but the swell kept firing so nobody really cared about some rain drops.

This lasted about another half an hour until the wind started dropping and turning east. The now side-shore wind rapidly increased. Another heavy rain squall flooded the beach and the show ended with some dramatic rainbows. Everybody left the ocean.

It looked like it was over. The wind now turned onshore and started to transform the lineup into a mess. But then the wind suddenly lost force until it was almost completely calm. Obviously it was not over yet.

The surfers who had not left yet slipped back into their wetsuits and paddled out again. There weren´t too many of them left but these had another hour of VERY nice surf until the sun disappeared behind the horizon.

From this magic final hour benefitted both breaks. The main break wasn´t as hollow and demanding as before but now had beautifully lit fun peaks. The break to the east also was a bit less demanding but still had fast and long walls and the take-off zone in front of the jetty stayed thrilling.
