Besides me there was just a handful of locals out, all of them sailing pretty well in these marginal conditions. Windsurfing might be on decline here too – at least compared to the madness of the eighties and nineties – but there is a core group who still do it and they do it with passion.

I then left “Brutal Beach” and drove south to check some other spots just to see how it was over there. The height restriction bar at the parking of the “Six Pours” park was open so I entered and went for the short walk to the headland.

In the bay below there was one other guy out milking the rest of the ending windy day. Over at Le Brusque there were a few more windsurfers out. From the distance it looked better than “Brutal Beach”. I had expected this but didn´t go due to the parking restrictions over there which make it almost impossible to park there with a van.

I enjoyed the view until it was dark and then returned to my van, only to find out that the bar at the parking entrance now was closed. I was already working on the bar with some tools when the guardian came over and told me that the parking closes at seven but kindly let me out. I drove straight to the motorway from here and set my navigational system on home. It was still 1600 kilometers away but the afternoon session made the drive easier.
