This gave me time for a decent breakfast and a slow start into the day, knowing that the wind would blow hard the whole day there was no need to get nervous. Later in the morning a couple of kite-surfers went out and used the still quite chaotic breaking waves to launch some solid jumps. These frequent flyers had some decent airtime, getting up some twenty meters and flying downwind for some good fifty meters. Nice to watch but not my kind of pleasure.

Jumping has been a sometimes-necessary thing but not a priority for me since years now and my focus lies on wave-sailing. The wind was still blowing hard and so I rigged up the rarely used 4.0 sail.

The stiff wind was at the upper end of what I could handle with the 4.0, but this helped navigate the inside shore break and the whirly sections with unfavourable currents.
