It didn´t bother me too much though, as the first session already had been very pleasant and I again had the prospect of an even better session the following day with – at least according to the actual forecast – stronger winds, still perfectly side shore and bigger swell. So, I used the remaining few hours of the day to save anergy and take a few photos.
Saturday, 17 September
During the morning it was raining without end. A decent northerly swell was running, but the sandbars mostly could make nothing out of it. The wind was blowing from the north, as expected and hoped, but with a lot of up and downs. Around noon the rain finally stopped, but the wind stayed inconsistent and – probably due to the wrong tide – the waves were breaking in a chaotic mush.
It nevertheless got crowded out at sea, with plenty of kite surfers, a few windsurfers and a bunch of wing-foilers in the sheltered bay in between the jetties. The sun came out occasionally, but the wind did not really kick in. It wasn´t even close to what I had expected from the forecast, and I once again wished we still had the old Sydmolen setup.
