But he was the only one to have fun out there as the two other remaining guys barely managed to paddle out and never really caught a wave. They tried for quite a while before they gave up and went surfing the inside in front of the beach which turned into a fun peak with the rising tide.
As my paddle fitness was very far from being sufficient to battle these wild elements I went for a walk again and explored the hills around the point. But it was a good day with all this weather, the storm and the sun and the stunning landscapes of this coast. Back at the hostel I felt tired pretty soon despite having just walked and not surfed this day.
Thursday:
The day started grey with some rain. But the wind forecast was good for the morning, so I drove to North Bay. There a friendly official told me that the road would be closed at ten in preparation for the “Tour de Yorkshire” cycling race that would come to town on Friday.
