I arrived there with perfect timing as the incoming tide juiced up the rising swell and the wind started to back off. I dressed in rubber again and paddled out. Once at the lineup I realized that the wind had almost completely dropped. Waves were up to head-high in sets and the surface consistence came close to oily. I had a very nice session all alone at my private peak.

When I was finished there was a good half hour of daylight left and I drove over to Godrevy to see how things were going over there. Despite the tide being already too high there still was a large crowd of surfers out, obviously hell-bound to milk this swell to the max. Waves were pretty solid here but very few actually were surf-able due to the wrong tide. Spectacular to watch nevertheless.

Sunday morning it was raining cats and dogs. The wind was a very light offshore and the waves still had good size. Just the tide was wrong again and it would take at least another two hours until it would drop enough to make the waves breaking less closeout. The problem was that according to the forecast the wind should turn onshore and gain strength in the late morning. Timing would be very crucial in order to score another decent surf session this day.

For the moment, I took it easy. Staying outside was very unpleasant due to the pouring rain. So, I drove to the parking at Gwithian and found a parking space from where I had a good view on the bay from the dry inside of my van
