Whatever, when the swell started to drop in the early evening everybody was satisfied and we finished the session with a beer at the farm. The boys left and I went to check the remnants of the swell at the other place.
Meanwhile it was sunny and the peninsula was lit with that typical Nordic evening light that you only get after a rainy and windy day. Driving along the dirt track to the other place I spotted a seemingly empty lineup without much swell. In fact, the swell was tiny now.
On a closer look I realized that two guys were still sitting out on the calm ocean and was wondering, what they were doing there.
I parked the van and walked over to the break. Still no significant movement on the ocean. As there was almost no more wind while the low hanging sun still managed to warm the air I decided to hang around a bit and savour the beautiful nature. After a while I understood why these two guys were still hanging out in the lineup.
A rogue set approached and three shoulder-high waves peeled perfectly along the point. One of the guys managed to catch one of them and screamed down the line on his backside about a hundred meters until the wave ate him and continued to break another hundred meters without any annoying surfers on its shoulder. According to my Camera data the waves of that set each ran for more than 30 seconds.
