Praia da Luz
Wide bay bordered by cliffs and blessed with a beach of fine sand and some reef plates. Beautiful enough for having done the metamorphosis from fishing village to tourist resort some longer time agon. Access to the beach via labyrinthically narrow alleys through the older part of the town – cars used to be way smaller back then – to way too few parking spaces. Probably a nightmare during tourist season.
Lots of rooms and apartments to hire in town and a few campgrounds just outside. Abundance of cafes, bars and restaurants in town though most of them are closed during the off-season. The beach is fairly wide and a real beauty. Some nice waves with the right swells.
