Friday, Feb. 22nd. Our crew now consisted of 6 people divided on two apartments. Perhaps a bit too many with too different characters. Some tensions and bad vibes had already appeared in the past days and I kept myself a bit away from the group. So I was pretty happy that it was windy again and another downwind sail to Shacks and an extended wave-sailing session in two meter waves was on the program. After about 5 hours of windsurfing I was the last out and exhausted but very happy finally finished the day with a well needed dinner with my girlfriend.
The next day was windy again but I decided to give the cuts in my foot some time to heal. So I just watched the other ones having a fun sail and spotted some whales jumping a bit further out on the Atlantic Ocean.
Sunday, Feb. 24th became another landlocked day. We did a trip to Cabo Rojo at the south-western corner of the island and liked it a lot. This part of the coast borders the Caribbean Sea and consists of a myriad of bays and peninsulas with mangroves and numerous birds and – at sunset – an army of mosquitos eager to suck white men´s blood.
Monday, Feb. 25th. Only light to medium winds and small waves at this day. It was enough for a windsurfing session on the bigger boards that got finished in the afternoon as the wind turned onshore and became even lighter. But the waves were picking up.
