Saturday, March 2nd. The crew drove to San Juan to pick up Christian´s girlfriend from the airport. I stayed in Jobos and rigged up my 4.9 sail, took my self-shaped asymmetrical windsurf board and sailed down to Shacks in medium winds just strong enough to keep me planning on the downwind ride. At Shacks the wind picked up a notch, waves were in the 2 – 3 meter range with a tendency of getting bigger in the late afternoon. I had another excellent wave-sailing session and in the late afternoon hitched a ride back to Jobos with some other windsurfers. They invited me to a barbecue that night but back at Jobos I waited and waited until very late in the night for the crew to come back with the car. When they finally arrived it was too late to go to the barbecue which pissed me off quite a bit.

Sunday it was windy again, but I had to stay in bed due to strong fever, probably because of the large patch of skin from my foot that I had lost to the coral heads at Shacks the day before. Alive coral can give you quite an infection was what I learned through this.

Monday was another lost day for me. It was windy and there were some nice waves but my foot was still too damaged so all I could do was walk down to Shacks in the late afternoon with one of our adopted local dogs. Back at the apartment I felt that getting a little bit drunk was a good manor to get rid of bad moods. Didn´t really work though….
