Back in the harbour we saw the ferry leave the port without us. No wonder, because this ferry had not been announced before and only insiders knew that she was going. We spent the night in the harbour and got up very early the next morning. This time we were lucky and made it on the ferry that left at 11 ó clock. At 4 in the afternoon we reached Cozumel. Feeling the urge for some more night life we entered a discotheque later, but it was a total disappointment as they were only playing unbearable disco music. We left soon and spent the night at a sand track leading to a beach.

Monday morning we went to the market and bought some vegetables before we started our search mission. The plan was to follow the dirt track along the east coast and find a nice setup for a wave-sailing session. The track looked a bit sandy from the beginning, but we had asked a local if it was safe to drive and we were told it should be no problem.

So we went and every time a sandy part came into sight we just put the pedal to the metal and passed it with plenty of speed. This worked good for about 5 kilometres and we felt conscious enough to pass even larger patches of sand. So we didnīt worry when we reached a sand field in a curve and gave it a speedy go. Sure enough we would manage to reach the hard part of the track again just behind the corner.

But the sand patch didnīt end behind the corner. Stopping and driving back was no option so we desperately kept going but never reached hard ground again.
