Sunday was a repetition of the day before with the exception that the waves at the reef reached 2 meters resulting in stronger currents and more difficulties passing the reef but also more fun playing in the waves. We really started to like the windsurfing sessions now, mixing a bit of wavesailing above the reef with fooling around in the sheltered area inside the reef and having a break at one of the beach bars.

The fun was shadowed by the magnetic switch and therefore the starter of the van that refused to work anymore. With the help of our new friend Carlos (the owner of our favourite bar), we removed the starter from the engine and dismantled the switch to clean the contacts. Once we had done this and put everything together again we anxiously turned the ignition key. Nothing happened. We went to a restaurant, had fish and beer, went to another bar, had more beers and finished the night with a bottle of Tequila.

The whole next day was spent with dismantling the switch again and searching for replacement parts. This included a lot of waiting in a garage, Carlos driving us from the beach to the garage and back again several times and luckily ended in the evening with having all the needed parts. We spent the night in hammocks at the beach and fixed the starter the following morning. Then we said good bye to our friends and went on the road again. We headed west to the near border of Belize.
