First stop for the kitejammers was Cowwreck Beach where they could again enjoy the perfect catering, with view on a picture perfect bay. Refueled they went back to Pomato Point for a first kite session in shorts and lycra, pros and amateurs mixed and all of them enthusiastic about the empty spot. A reef shelters the bay and on the same hand offers some waveriding even with small swell whilst the flat water on the inside invites for performing all thinkable tricks. You could see their grins from the helicopter and consequently amateurs and pros alike ripped hard at this presumably unknown spot that showed its full potential.
The following downwind tack through turquoise waters to Tomato Point must have burned itself into the riders synapses according to the glance in the eyes of the competitors. After regaining strength at the barbecue there was some time left that was filled with clinic, equipment tests or just enjoying the dream like kiteboarding conditions until everybody met again for dinner at Potters with red eyes, sunburned and salt crusted. This night there was a dress code, costumes were obliged and the participants showed astounding creativity with their outfit. Rumors go that the party lasted until early morning hours and not everyone made it back to boats without getting wet….
