With the wind still blowing the next morning most of the riders shuffled into the waiting busses and tried to catch some last minute rest before arriving at an empty beach, stretching for miles in both directions, flocks of flamingos circling overhead and a reef along the coast pounded by waves. A perfect place to start a downwinder to Cow Wreck Beach.....Some riders opted for the direct way on the inside, while others had the time of their live shredding every wave along the downwind run, with especially Stephen Schank and Pete Cabrinha showing pure surfing style in really fun waves directly in front of the Cow Wreck Beach bar....what a day with another wild party at the Anegada Reef Hotel, tribal being the theme of the night.
From that point memory gets a bit blurred with more kiting in perfect conditions, clinics for everyone by the world top pros, wakeboarding, more parties in the warm nights on islands along the way the Kitejammers made through the islands, somehow ending up at the shores of Necker Island again for the final night...and what a night it was....
All that is left, is to sum up the experience of the Billabong BVI Kitejam: No one was complaining about anything...not even the rich and famous..!
