In El Médano you find almost everything you might need. Windsurf and surf shops with repair service for boards and sails, bars, many restaurants, supermarkets…
Outside El Médano Tenerife offers more diversions than the other Canary islands. Dream beaches in the south, snow on the Teide mountain and tropical forrests in the northern parts of the island. There is fantastic bike tracks and with a car you can make superb excursions into the different climate zones. There is touristic highlights as the Siam Park (sort of a water world) and the Loro Parcqe (excellent zoo). Very recommendable is, besides a visit of the Teide summit that you can reach with a funicular, is a trip into the rough northwest with the Punta del Hidalgo and the Anaga mountains.
Our advice: leave El Médano at least once. It is worth it, even during a short stay.
