Resume: Rügen is not Klitmoeller. Good wave-sailing conditions on the island can only be found with very specific wind directions. Neu Mukran is a burner with northeasters, Kreptitz is fun during a very small wind sector with south-westerly direction. During south-, south to southwest, south-east and west or north-west winds other regions offer way better options for wave-sailing. But Rügen has plenty of excellent flat water spots, an absolute paradise for freestyle and freeriding. Besides that Rügen has plenty of alternatives, lots of point of interests and a very varied nature good for bicycle tours and hikes.
There is plenty of restaurants and cinemas, adventure pools or the “Rasender Roland” offer options to please non-windsurfing company or family. For Klitmoeller-fixed windsurfers the island is a compromise, but a good one!
