Thou shall praise Thy north shore!
This early autumn saw a series of lows passing the north sea, with strong westerly winds, never turning around far enough. Short lived wind swells - though but with some size – and ever changing wind directions were the call. Not an epic scenario for surf trips, but great for windsurfing, kitesurfing. Just once in a while, and only for a few hours, conditions were suitable for a nice (means not windblown – surf session. I was on turkey since a while, so I had to go anyhow. Like in the old days, I mentally prepared for everything. High wind wave sailing. Surfing. Even flat water windsurfing on one of the fjords. I would take it as it would come. Best place for a mission like this is Thy in northwest Denmark. And it turned out, that during this weekend, everybody got their fair share of fun, be it windsurfers, kitesurfers, SUP – gondolier, surfers and even kajakers. I ended finding some waves with offshore winds and had some nice surf sessions. Gotta praise Thy north shore for being that versatile!
