A very relaxed atmosphere on the water, with the locals and tourists sharing the waves and enjoying the beautiful scenery and watercolours. Even the sun came out and it felt nearly like being somewhere in the Mediterranean, but with way better waves. And the gulf stream makes sure that even during the winter months the water never gets really cold, maybe a bit refreshing.

Meeting friends from the northern part of Germany after the session just added up to the great experience, and once again showed how small today’s world has become. And making new friends is always very easy when you have at least one thing in common already, windsurfing. We met a very nice couple from the Netherlands, and being nearly locals with all their visits to this area, they had many recommendations for us about restaurants to try and places to visit.

So even with the wind dying over the next few days, there was no reason to hang our heads. With so many bays and nowadays options of SUPing and surfing we could easily entertain us during the windless period we experienced. Not to forget to try to follow the recommendations of the local restaurants and cuisine.. And we might have done the right thing to make the wind gods smile on us, after a few bottles of the excellent white vine of this region and some of the freshest seafood you can probably find. Or maybe it was our trip to the various mystical local stone circles and menhirs. Being set up by the druids for the wind gods might be a new theory, adding up the already numerous ones....
